INSERT BALL BEARING
The outer rings of radial insert ball bearings have a spherical or cylindrical outside surface. Radial insert ball bearings are available with a metric or inch size bore. Location of radial insert ball bearings on the shaft is by means of an eccentric locking collar, grub screws in the inner ring, an adapter sleeve, a drive slot, fit or profiled bore.
In combination with a housing matched to the design, bearings with a spherical outside surface can compensate for static misalignment of the shaft.
They are particularly easy to fit and suitable for the design of economical bearing arrangements. They are highly suitable where predominantly radial loads must be supported.

Locking With Set (Grub) Screws Bearing
Are locked onto the shaft by tightening the two cup point hexagonal set screws in the inner ring (positioned 62° apart for bearings of the UC series and 120° apart for all other bearings)

Locking With An Eccentric Locking Collar Bearing
Are intended for use in applications where the direction of rotation is constant have, on one side, an eccentric step at the extended inner ring to accommodate the locking collar, are locked onto the shaft by turning the locking collar in the direction of rotation; a single set screw further secures the collar to the shaft.

Locking With An Adapter Sleeve Bearing
Are suitable for applications for both constant and alternating directions of rotation fit. permit the full limiting speed to be achieved when mounted on an adapter sleeve, even where using commercial grade shafts.

Locking With An Interference Fit Bearing
Are suitable for applications where smooth running is a key operational parameter, have normal tolerances for the bearing bore diameter and are locked onto the shaft using an appropriate interference fit, have the same dimensions and features as deep groove ball bearings in the 62 and 63 series, but have a spherically shaped (convex) outside surface.

INSERT BALL BEARING APPLICATION
Insert bearing but have a convex outer ring and in most cases an extended inner ring with a specific locking device, enabling quick and easy mounting onto the shaft.
